Youth Tour 2025 Recap
The 2025 Electric Cooperative Youth Tour to Washington, D.C., was a remarkable experience for Abigail Waldrop and Jase Welborn, this year’s delegates from Bowie-Cass. From June 16-22, the group visited landmarks, met with elected officials, and participated in leadership seminars designed to inspire them to become active members of their communities.
Key Highlights:
- National Monuments & Museums: Students toured iconic sites including the Lincoln Memorial, the U.S. Capitol, and the Smithsonian museums, gaining a deeper appreciation for American history and culture.
- Meetings with Elected Officials: Delegates had the opportunity to meet with their congressional representatives and senators, discussing policy issues and learning about the legislative process firsthand.
- Leadership Seminar: Students attended a leadership development session. They had the opportunity to listen to various speakers and gain new insights on how to develop their own leadership skills.
- Networking: The trip allowed students to connect with nearly 1,600 peers from across the country, building a network of future leaders in their communities.
