There have been several reports of a solar company going door-to-door within our service territory. They claim to be working on our behalf to sell solar panels to residents and offer steep discounts on electric service. They are also requesting access to members’ property so that they can get information from the electric meter or replace the meter altogether. No company is authorized to “swap out” your Bowie-Cass electric meter. We are NOT affiliated with any solar company, and we do not make door-to-door sales of any kind!
If you are interested in solar, please research companies beforehand and ask questions of solar installers before committing to any installations.
The point of going solar is to save energy, and as your trusted energy provider, we want you to be well-informed. We encourage you to reach out to us, even if you are only thinking about pursuing solar as an additional power source. Don’t get pressured or talked into signing the bottom line of a contract before doing your research or speaking with our Engineering Department.
