3/5/25 Morning Restoration Update
Our second day of restoration work is well underway. We experienced a setback late yesterday evening when we lost transmission in Cass County. We jumped back up to over 11,000 meters out. This morning, our outage count is 8,159. Straight line winds and possible tornados wreaked havoc on our system yesterday and had us at a peak of over 18,000 meters out. The primary cause for new outages AFTER the storms yesterday and now into today has been the sustained high winds. Damaged trees/limbs are being blown into the lines, which is creating even more work for our line crews. Our broken pole count has risen to 25+ distribution poles across our service territory. We are also still working to replace broken transmission poles, but we’ve been successful in rerouting power in those areas to ease outage numbers.

We have additional crews from Southwest Arkansas Electric, Heart of Texas Electric, & CoServ that will be assisting us with our restoration efforts today.

As we’ve done throughout previous storm restorations, we will continue to post progress photos from across our service territory to help our members see the scope of damage that we are encountering and the work being done to correct it.
We understand that being without power for any amount of time isn’t ideal, nor is it comfortable. We GREATLY appreciate how supportive, patient, & understanding our local communities have been as we’ve battled the storms and high winds!
