3/5/25 Evening Update

3/5/25 Evening Update

We’ve made movement in the right direction throughout the afternoon and into this evening. Even battling against the wind we have been able to get our outage count below 6,000. The downside is that our outage numbers are spread across roughly 268 separate locations, which means we have a great deal of individual/smaller outages, which in turn usually means more in depth work to make repairs. Strong winds have continued to be our biggest issue throughout the day. Our line crews have taken it all in stride and have been working hard to combat the wind and restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

As we stated this morning, this will continue to be a MULTIPLE-DAY OUTAGE. Please plan accordingly— if you are able to do so. Our guys are working as swiftly as they can, but the damage is extensive and will take a considerable amount of time to repair.

We are still finding more and more damage as work progresses. At last count, there were approximately 27 breaks to repair and well over 30+ broken poles that still need to be replaced. 70+ jobs have been created so far, we expect that number to continue to rise until it’s all said and done.

CoServ, Southwest Arkansas Electric, & Heart of Texas Electric gave us an extra boost today in our restoration efforts. Tomorrow, line crews from Trinity Valley Electric, Jasper-Newton Electric, & Rusk County Electric will also be joining us. We appreciate all of these dedicated linemen for taking time away from their families, homes, and jobs to come to our aid.
