3/5/25 Afternoon Outage Update

3/5/25 Afternoon Update
Our outage counts have improved since this morning. We currently have 6,589 meters without power. Our number of meters out has dropped significantly, but our number of separate outage locations has not. Outages are spread out across 260 separate locations, which means we have a great deal of individual/smaller outages. Strong winds have proven a challenge for us today, much like they did yesterday. As we make progress in one area, the wind causes more issues in another. Our guys are diligently working to combat the wind and restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
We are finding more and more damage as work progresses. There are numerous fallen trees/limbs, we’ve even encountered debris such as tin siding wrapped up in the line or around transformers or other devices. Poles all over the territory have been snapped in half or knocked over completely. We shared a photo earlier of a pole that was taken out in the middle, it was still attached to the line and hanging.
As we stated this morning, this will continue to be a MULTIPLE-DAY OUTAGE. Please plan accordingly— if you are able to do so. Our guys are working as swiftly as they can, but the damage is extensive and will take a considerable amount of time to repair.
CoServ and Southwest Arkansas Electric are in the field with us working to restore power. We will soon have extra help from Heart of Texas Electric. Tomorrow, line crews from Trinity Valley Electric will also be joining in on our restoration efforts. We appreciate all of these dedicated linemen for taking time away from their families, homes, and jobs to come to our aid.
