Despite the icy and bitterly cold conditions, our crews made great progress today! Roadways are still slick and hazardous, which slows progress, but they still made a showing!
We've posted several pictures throughout the day to help show what damage and conditions our crews are working in. There is significant tree damage due to the ice.
We've reached a point in the restoration process where repairs happen at a snail's pace. That is largely due in part to the sizes of our remaining outages. We've been able to restore our larger outages (100+ meters), and now work is more focused on the smaller ones. Another reason is that we have a majority of smaller outages spread out over 100 separate locations. That means more travel time between repairs, and some of these smaller outages may require the same amount of materials or more than a large-scale outage, making restoration time-consuming.
Crews are working as safely and quickly as conditions allow, addressing each outage one by one. Every location matters, and restoration efforts will continue until all power is restored.
