It's been a long day.
Crews have spent the majority of the day battling against icy roads, frigid temperatures, & ice-laden trees and limbs. The entire day has been a big game of cat-and-mouse. We'd make progress in one area, just for other issues to pop up elsewhere. Still, completed crew jobs included 3 pole replacements and at least 14 breaks that were picked up.
There are still 156 separate outage locations to cover, and many of those may have only 1-10 meters affected, and the repairs could require as many resources as an outage affecting 250 meters.
At present, we have 2,286 meters without power, which is a large improvement from the over 6,000 we had out earlier in the day.
There is still a considerable amount of work to be done. **This will continue to be a MULTI-DAY OUTAGE. Please have alternate plans in place if necessary.**
Crews from Upshur Rural and Farmer's Electric joined us today to assist in our restoration efforts. We have more crews from Heart of Texas, Trinity Valley, & Grayson-Collin Electric coming to our aid as well.
