1/11/25 Morning Update
Our second full day of outage restoration kicked off well before dawn with an all crew safety meeting. Safety meetings are a common and important step for us, not just during outages, but also for our everyday tasks. It’s a time for everyone to reset and refocus to ensure that safety is at the forefront of every decision made during the day. Our biggest (and most important) goal is for everyone to make it home safely.
Overnight, there were some additional outages, but thankfully no major setbacks in our outage totals. There are currently 5,704 meters without power. We had a few more trees fall from outside of the right-of-way overnight which contributed to the increase in meters out. Our broken pole count remains low. We’ve found (and will likely continue to find as restoration efforts continue) several broken/damaged conductors and cross-arms across our system.

We’re optimistic that our outage count will see a significant drop today. There will still be outages that stretch into tomorrow and possibly Monday. It’s still best for members at least to be prepared to be without power today and overnight. We are working as quickly as possible, but unforeseen setbacks cannot be ruled out.
As for boots on the ground, all available BCEC crews are in the field. We have additional crews from 7 sister cooperatives, contractors, & now have 16 right-of-way crews.
Outage Reporting: Outages need to be reported by calling 877-707-2232 or through the mobile app or online portal. ‼️Please do NOT report outages to Facebook. Our page is not tied into our outage management system, so reports cannot be forwarded.‼️
We understand that being without power for any amount of time isn't ideal, nor is it comfortable. We GREATLY appreciate how supportive, patient, & understanding our local communities have been as we've battled against the ice!
